Have you ever felt worthless when someone close to you starts ignoring you or do you start prioritizing others needs before your own and try to please them or believing that no one likes you and is avoiding you all of a sudden?

If YES , this is nothing but an emotional abuse!

What is emotional abuse? Emotional abuse is an abusive behaviour that is emotional rather than physical in nature. It can include anything from verbal abuse and constant criticism to more subtle tactics such as intimidation, manipulation, and refusal to ever be pleased. One or the other time we have been verbally abused by our parents or our peers. But what we felt that time was temporary. But if the abusing continues and goes on everyday of your life that you are facing emotional abusing!

Let me share a story with you guys!

There was a child who was smart and very well-mannered. This child had a miserable childhood, was alone and had no one whom he can share his worries with. Also, his friends started ignoring him because he was suffering from some financial difficulties so couldn’t afford the best and fancy stationary items. Being raised by two very strong and independent women, that were his mother and his elder sister, he had a knowledge about everything from women’s clothing to makeup products. As having these knowledge was a bit unacceptable by the other boys in his school ; he was being made a target to bully! He was abused both physically and emotionally. They called him names, insulted him, questioned him about his sexuality and also that did he have any male parts or not, hit him and pushed him while he walked through the verandas. These comments broke that child to his core. And if this wasn’t enough there were fights taking place in his family too. His troubled father who had lost his job and had no contact with him out of the blue came back! Initially, he was fine then he started fighting out of frustration. This led him more into stress and then leading into depression. He started isolating himself, his got low grades in exam (which for him were a lot important because he was a straight A student) and eventually forgetting who he really was! He faced these issues till his 9th grade. That’s when he thought that this was enough and committing suicide was the only thing for him to escape this chaos. But he couldn't do it. And thats when, a teacher of his who had known him for 5 years, saw him crying on the school terrace. She asked him what was the matter and he explained everything what he was going through. She felt that this child was in desperate need of meeting a counselor. After the necessary help provided, this boy wasn’t the same as he was ! He scored good grades in his finals, there were no fights in his family now, his financial conditions were a lot better, and also there was a smile on his face!

You all might be thinking about this child Who is he? How is he now? The child is me! I was the guy who had gone through all this and yet is willing to help more teenagers like him!
